Edward Leahy

Former MDC Police Officer, Well Known Church Tenor

Edward F. Leahy of Charlestown, (born in Somerville and formerly of Hull, Weymouth, Braintree and  Port Orange, Florida) died on June 22.

Eddie was a former MDC Police Officer, Investigator for the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, Government Affairs Representative for the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. and the Wine Institute of California.  He was also a well know tenor in many Boston and South Shore churches and a US Navy veteran of World War II South Pacific.
He was the beloved husband of Mary H. “Marie” (Maguire) Leahy; loving father of Sally A. Flanagan of Florida, Edward F. Jr. and his wife, Eileen of Connecticut, Robert M. and his wife, Lourdes of New York, Paul G. and his wife, Rose of Connecticut, Mark J. and his wife, Alicia of Pennsylvania, Peter C. and his wife, Kristine of Connecticut, Timothy D. and his wife, Maria of Charlestown and Thomas A. and his wife, Barbara Leahy of Pennsylvania. He was the loving grandfather of six granddaughters and 16 grandsons and is also survived by his sister, Rita V. Lally of Dorchester. He was predeceased by his parents Albert M. and Sarah (Crane) Leahy and by six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral arrangements were by the Murphy and Turnbull Funeral Home, 322 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown, In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddie’s name to The Missionary Society of St. James the Apostle 24 Clark St. Boston, MA 02109

Anne Elaine Mc Ree

Resident of Millbrae

Anne Elaine Mc Ree of Millbrae passed away at her home on June 30. She was the loving wife of the late Nevel Mc Ree for over 47 years and is survived by her daughter, Gail Bagby, (the late Ron Bagby) and her son, Michael Mc Ree (his wife Mary Lynn); her grandchildren: Julie (husband, Michael Molloy), Jennifer (husband, Sam Suen), Sean, Ryan (his wife, Emily) and Colin; and great-grandchildren, Kylie, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Sarah. Elaine is also survived by two sisters, Marie Staffieri of Boston, MA and Patricia King of Holbrook, MA and their families.

She was a native of Boston, MA, age 86. She loved her family and many friends. Elaine enjoyed travel, parties, food and fun. She lived a full life and would never give up on anything.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 5, 2013, 11:00 AM at St. Dunstan Catholic Church, 1133 Broadway in Millbrae. Committal services will follow at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mission Hospice, 1670 S. Amphlett Blvd., Suite 300, San Mateo, 94402 or A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Org. Chapel of the Highlands, Millbrae. Ca.
