Helen ‘Honey’ McCreevan

Helen P. “Honey” (Monagle) McCreevan of Charlestown died on February 18. She was 76 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late John J. “Mac” McCreevan; devoted mother of Donna Hickey and her husband, Thomas and Deborah McCreevan, all of Charlestown; loving grandmother to Ryan and Kaleigh Hickey, both of Charlestown; beloved sister of Julie Murphy and her husband, Daniel of Wilmington, Mary Powers and her late husband, Richard of Wareham and the late John Monagle and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

 James Mahoney 

Charlestown Resident 

James P. “Jim” Mahoney of Charlestown died on February 17. He was 94 years old.

A U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he was a member of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Campbell Association.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary F. (Kinsley) Mahoney; devoted father of James P. Mahoney Jr. (Lt. B.F.D. Marine Unit) and his wife Cecelia “Cissy” of Charlestown, Daniel L. Mahoney and Paul S. Mahoney (Lt. B.P.D. C-11) and his wife, Kimberly, all of Reading; loving “Pa” to James, Daniel, Neil, Brendan, Patrick and Maeve Mahoney; beloved brother of Margaret Driscoll, John Mahoney (Ret. B.P.D.) and his wife, Clara, all of Charlestown and the late Charles, Daniel and Francis Mahoney, Mary Barone and Helena Dever. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Thursday (today) at 9 a.m. from the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Angelique R. Kane of Everett, formerly of Charlestown, died suddenly on February 15. She was 33 years old.

The loving mother of Dylan Kane, she was the beloved daughter of Robert H. Kane, Jr. and his wife, Roberta of Everett and the late Judith (Hastie) Kane; devoted sister of Melinda Kane of Wakefield and the late Robert H. Kane, III.

Daurice Saccardo 

Retired Boston Public Health Nurse 

Daurice R. (Farrell) Saccardo of Melrose died on February 15. She was 87 years old.

A retired public health nurse for the City of Boston, she was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore J. Saccardo; loving aunt of Bonnie Harris of Braintree, Sally Furlong of Weymouth, Grace Lidell of Plymouth, James Farrell of Rockland, Dennis Farrell of Florida, Barbara Garland of Weymouth and the late William and Marc Farrell; dear friend of Paula and Bob Steward of W. Peabody; sister-in-law of the late Christine, Caroline and Sadie Saccardo. She is also survived by 14 great-nieces and nephews and 19 great-great-nieces and nephews.

Kathleen M. (Coleman) Collette died in Dorchester on February 14.

She was the beloved wife of Steven H. Collette; devoted mother of Steven H. Collette, Jr. BPD Area C-6 and John C. Collette, both of Dorchester; loving sister of Frank “Buddy” Coleman of New Hampshire, John Coleman of Charlestown, and Patrick Coleman of Squantum.

Gloria Castaldini 

Of Reading, formerly of Charlestown 

Gloria (Cassettari) Castaldini of Reading formerly of Charlestown, died on February 13. She was 87 years old.

She was the beloved wife of 62 years to James Castaldini; devoted mother of Lisa Truesdale and her husband, Fred of Malden, Peter Castaldini of Norwood, James “Jay” Castaldini and his wife, Rita of Nashua, N.H. and Gina Beliveau and her husband, Mike of Winchester; mother-in-law of Patricia Castaldini of Randolph. She was a loving Grammy to Stacey, Michael, Eric, Kristen, P.J., Kerri, Marita, Joanna, Michael and Christian and her seven great-grandchildren and the sister of the late Leo and Aladino Cassettari.

Dorothy Sheehy 

New England Telephone Retiree

Dorothy (O’Brien) Heelen Sheehy of Durham, NH, formerly of Charlestown and Reading, died on February 14. She was 87 years old

Born on January 22, 1925 in Boston, the daughter of Thomas J. and Dorothy (Howard) O’Brien, she worked for New England Telephone Company, retiring in 1989 and enjoyed Bridge and playing cards.

She was predeceased by her first husband, James H. Heelen in 1980. Her survivors include her husband of 21 years, Frederick Sheehy; three children, James Heelen, Jane Heelen and Susan Primack; five

grandchildren; a brother, John O’Brien; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Of East Bridgewater, formerly of Charlestown

Patricia A. (Shaw) Soriano of East Bridgewater, formerly of Charlestown, died on February 13.

The beloved wife of the late Angelo Soriano, she was the devoted sister of Sr. Margaret Philip, O.P. of Kentucky, Pauline Lynch of Charlestown, Sr. Ann Bernardine O.P. of Watertown and Philip Shaw of Florida, and the late Margaret Kirk, Mary Carberry and Louise Dillon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Isabelle ‘Bella’ Harrington-Newell 

Charlestown Resident 

Isabelle W. “Bella” (Sadofsky) Harrington-Newell of Charlestown died on February 12.

The beloved wife of the late Daniel H. Harrington, she was the devoted mother of Richard Newell and his wife, Hanne of Hollis, N.H. and Diane Newell-Albee of Pepperell and is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
