Every Friday morning, the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce hosts a breakfast networking event at the Grasshopper Café, located at 229 Bunker Hill St. The meetings begin promptly at 7:30 a.m., but guests can get there as early as 7 a.m., when the café opens.
This week’s breakfast networking meeting topic is “Wellness in the Workplace.” Karen Fabian of Bare Bones Yoga will be giving a presentation on the topic and answering questions from attendees about staying healthy and balanced on the job.
Fabian began teaching yoga in 2002 and founded Bare Bones Yoga in 2009. She also has more than 25 years of experience working in health care, managed care consulting and software design. Fabian was inspired to open Bare Bones Yoga at the beginning of recession, when friends told her they couldn’t afford to take yoga classes anymore. Her company started out in a renovated gas station in the Fenway and later moved to Charlestown. Her mission is keeping yoga simple.
The cost to attend the breakfast meeting is $11, which includes one of three fixed price breakfasts: Townie Toast, Rise & Shine special, or a breakfast sandwich. Charlestown business owners may attend free of charge.
The Grasshopper Café opened to quite a bit of fanfare at the end of last summer. The bill of fare at the Grasshopper has made it one of Charlestown’s major breakfast and lunch favorites.
The breakfast networking by the Chamber has also proven to be of added value to all members of the Chamber to the Charlestown business community at large.
A limited number of seats will be available. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Chamber Business Manager Diane Grant at [email protected].
