Sue “Sammie’ Montgomery

Charlestown resident

Sue A. “Sammie” Montgomery of Charlestown died on November 7. She was 63 years old.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Rose (Murphy) and George “Monty” Montgomery; sister of the late Robert Montgomery; sister-in-law of Rita Kountz of Wellesley; niece of the late Marion Murphy, James, Edward, Frank, John, Arthur, Joseph, and Thomas Murphy; dear cousin of Sr. Rita Murphy SND of Winchester. aunt of Brian Montgomery, his wife, Megan and their sons, Benjamin and Samuel, all of Longmeadow and Jill Montgomery of California. She is also survived by many loving Murphy cousins and several of her devoted and cherished friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Francis deSales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Gerard Schulze

Of Waltham, formerly of Charlestown

Gerard J. Schulze of Waltham, formerly of West Roxbury and Charlestown, died on November 3 after a brief battle with cancer.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Brennan McMenimen; her children, Meghan Conneely and her husband, Einne, of Waltham and Joseph McMenimen and his wife, Catherine, of Snowmass, CO and grandchildren, Michael, Cian, Fiona, Joseph and Bernard. The twin brother of the late Gerald Schulze, he also leaves his brother Erich “Mickey” Schulze and his wife, Jacqueline, of Wareham; Gerald’s wife, Anna “Poosie” Schulze of Mashpee; four loving nieces and nephews and many cousins in Cork, Ireland.

Funeral arrangements are by The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte. 20) Waltham. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. today, Thursday, before leaving in procession to Saint Michael’s Chapel at the Chelsea Soldiers’ Home, 91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. James Noonan

Retired Postmaster

James G. Noonan of Readville, formerly of Charlestown, died on November 2,

A US Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a Retired US Postmaster, a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association, Bunker Hill Council # 62 K of C, American Legion Post #0078 Hyde Park, and the Sunset Bocce Club.

The beloved husband of Priscilla A. (Sawyer) Noonan, he was the devoted father of Kerri A. Lonergan and her husband, Michael of West Roxbury, James G. Jr. “Jay” and Michael K. Noonan, both of Readville; loving grandfather of Declan James; brother of John E. “Red” Noonan and his wife, Jeanette of Charlestown and the late Maryanne Ryan, Sheila and Daniel Noonan, He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks, 990 Washington St., Suite #102, Dedham, MA. 02026.

Mary Elias-Sweeney

Charlestown resident 

Mary T. (O’Connor) Elias-Sweeney of Charlestown died on October 29.

She was the beloved mother of Penny Sweeney of Watertown, Jack Sweeney and his wife, Karen of North Reading, Gene Sweeney and his wife, Charlene, Peggy Sweeney-Bishop and her husband, Ray and Gayle Sweeney, all of Charlestown and the late Billy Sweeney; loving grandmother of eight and great grandmother of eight.

David Wilson, Jr.

Of Dorchester, formerly of Revere

David J. Wilson, Jr. of Dorchester, formerly of Revere, died at his Dorchester home on October 22 following a brief illness.

He was the father of Dana (Wilson) Cinelli and the grandfather of Ralph Cinelli, Jr. of Revere;  the brother of Richard L. Wilson and his wife, Linda of Ft. Myers, FL, formerly of Leominster. David was the son of the late David J. and Anna (Stickney) Wilson and is also survived by his three nieces; Kristin, Kim and Kylee Wilson.

A celebration of his life will be held at a Funeral Mass on Monday Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary – St. Catherine of Siena Church, 46 Winthrop St., Charlestown. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or MSPCA.org.

James Crowley

Medford resident

James H. Crowly of Medford died on November 5.

He was the beloved son of James H. Crowley of Charlestown and the late Catherine A. Crowley; brother of Meg Crowley of Charlestown; dear friend of Joseph and Marilyn Voto.

His Funeral procession will begin from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville today, Thursday morning at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church, Somerville at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in  Oak Grove Cemetery.
