Kathleen Fiske-Reilly

Kathleen R. (McLaughlin) Fiske-Reilly of Charlestown died on March 19.

She was the beloved daughter of the late John J. McLaughlin and Kathleen (Allwood) Simpson; devoted mother of Kathy Ryan and her husband, Ted, Janice Reilly and her husband, Steve Kavanagh, all of Charlestown and Sean Reilly and his wife, Sandra, of Needham; loving grandmother of Brendan and Katie Ryan, both of Charlestown and Brooke, Jillian and Sean Reilly, all of Needham; sister of Joseph McLaughlin of California, Roseann Roberts of Revere, Kevin Simpson of Revere, Thomas Simpson of New Hampshire and the late John McLaughlin and William Simpson; dear friend of Rita Coughlan and the late William Coughlan of Charlestown.

Her Funeral will be held from the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, 329 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown today, Thursday, March 24 at 9:10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers remembrances in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.

Robert ‘Bud’ Mechan

Charlestown resident

Robert A. “Bud” Mechan of Charlestown died on March 13. He was 84 years old.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a proud 53 year member of Boston Plumbers Union Local 12 and a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Mary A. (Downes) Mechan; devoted father of Ellen M. Ander of Randolph, Robert A. Mechan, Jr.of New York, Brian J. Mechan and Patricia A. Mechan, both of Charlestown; loving Par to Christopher and Gregory Ander of Randolph and Erin and Ryan Mechan of New York; beloved brother of Elmer E. Mechan of Weymouth and the late Kenneth Mechan and Janet Palma and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends and neighbors.

Funeral arrangements were by the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne. Arthur ‘Sonny Boy’ Harrington

Veteran of Three Wars

Arthur C. “Sonny Boy” Harrington of Charlestown died unexpectedly on March 19. He was 82 years old.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, he was a member of Seafarers International Union and the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

He was the beloved husband of 56 years of Mary E. (Toland) Harrington; devoted father of Karl Harrington of So. Boston, Elizabeth Harrington-Jefferson of Dorchester, Jeremiah Harrington of Honolulu, HI, Julianna McCormick and her husband, Frank, of Charlestown, James Harrington of Everett, Arthur L. Harrington and his wife, Patricia, of No. Reading, Leo Harrington and his wife, Fabiola, of No. Andover and the late George Harrington; loving Papa to 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; beloved brother of Daniel “Danny Boy” Harrington of Norwood, Rose Langley of Wollaston, the late Dorothy Mullis, Raymond, Bernard and Jeremiah Harrington; loving uncle of Christine Celata of Medford.

William Collins

Of Florida, formerly of Charlestown

William J. Collins of Florida, formerly of Charlestown and Saugus, died on March 10. He was 59 years old.

A US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

He was the beloved husband of 13 years of Theresa (McLaughlin) Collins; devoted father of William H. “Harry” Collins and Michelle Manning, both of Florida; loving brother of James Collins and his wife, Johanna, of Mansfield, Betty Ann Collins of Braintree and Paul Collins and his wife, Mary, of Reading. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Thomas Gallagher

Worked at Charlestown Navy Yard

Thomas F. Gallagher of Goffstown, NH died on March 11.

He was 76 years old.

He worked in HVAC at the Charlestown Navy Yard, was a teacher at Greater Lowell Voc Tech and served in US Army during the Korean Conflict.

The beloved husband of the late Marie (Melanson), he was the devoted father of Sean of Deering, Nanette Dominguez of Jamaica Plain, Michele Scadding of Manchester, Amanda Barrett of Goffstown, Nichole Gallagher of Melrose, and Danielle Loiselle of Candia; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Of Quincy, formerly of Milton

Stephen F. Foley of Quincy, formerly of Milton, died suddenly on March 17.

He was the beloved son of Stephen Foley of Charlestown and Janice (Clarke) Foley of Quincy; devoted brother of Mark Foley and Michelle Foley, both of Quincy; nephew of Wesley Clarke of Braintree, Karen Hodges of Tennessee, Brian Clarke of Marshfield, Susan Clarke of England, Kenneth Foley and Brian Foley, both of Foxboro, and Gene Foley of Plymouth; grandson of Helen Clarke of Quincy and Rose Foley of Middleboro.
