Rita E. (Casaletto) Chambers of Stoneham, formerly of Charlestown, died on Jan. 9.

Peter Centola

Somerville resident

Peter C. Centola of Somerville died on Jan. 2.

He was the beloved husband of Helen (Hartigan); father of Peter M. of Somerville and Anne Marie Centola of Boston; son of the late Pasquale and Jane Centola; brother of Thomas of Charlestown, Victor of Billerica, Carol Centola of Everett, MaryLou Currier of Chelsea and the late George Centola, Barbara Cannata and Elizabeth Griffin.

Ruth Fidler

Retired Kennedy Family Service Center Supervisor

Ruth M. (Pelton) Fidler of Winthrop, formerly of Charlestown, died on Jan. 7.

The Retired Supervisor at The Kennedy Family Service Center, Charlestown, she was the beloved wife of the late William J. Fidler; devoted mother of William F. Fidler and his wife, Lisa, of Rhode Island, Karen Fidler and Maureen Fidler, both of Winthrop; loving grandmother of Marthe and Aidan Fidler; beloved sister of the late Arthur Pelton; devoted cousin of Jean Gilson of Wilmington and the late Joe Connolly; loving aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Claire McGaffigan

Of Quincy, formerly of Charlestown

Claire V. McGaffigan of Quincy, formerly of Charlestown, died on Jan. 7.

A graduate of Boston State College, Class of 1953, she received her Masters Degree from Boston State in 1959 and was a retired primary teacher in the Quincy School System.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Cook) McGaffigan,  the sister of the late Joseph and Leo McGaffigan and loving college friend of Janet M. Silva, Mary Franz and Clare McLaughlin all of West Roxbury.

Josephine Krakofsky

Charlestown resident

Josephine (Ferranti) Krakofsky of Charlestown passed from her earthly existence to be reunited with her beloved husband Aloysius “Buddy” Krakofsky on Jan. 6. She was 84 years old.

She was the devoted mother of Frances MacPherson of Charlestown; Linda Rea and her husband, Donald, of Tewksbury, Michael Krakofsky and his wife, Florence, of Wilmington and Lisa MaCrae and her husband, John, of Saugus; loving grandmother of seven and treasured great-grandmother of eight. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was the beloved sister of Eleanor Fiamma of Charlestown and the late Joseph and John Ferranti.

William Werman

Somerville resident

William S. Werman of Somerville died on Dec. 30.

He was the devoted husband of Christine (Bissett); beloved father of Sarah Werman, Matthew Bissett and Sarah Bissett, all of Somerville; loving son of Dr. Susan Dole of Somerville and the late James Dole; dear brother of Susan Riley and her husband, Andrew, of Raymond, NH, and James Werman and his wife, Nicole, of Manchester, NH; adored grandson of Winifred McLaughlin of Manchester, NH, and the late William S. McLaughlin. He is also lovingly survived by three nieces and two nephews.

A Memorial Mass was held  in St. Mary’s Church, Charlestown with arrangements under the direction of the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown.

Anne Marie Richards

Of Tewksbury, formerly of Charlestown

Anne Marie (Cadigan) Richards of Tewksbury, formerly of Charlestown, died on Jan. 6. She was 72 years old.

The beloved wife for 40 years of Al Richards, she was the . daughter of the late Timothy and Josephine (Shanahan) Cadigan; devoted mother of Kathleen (Burhoe) Gray and her husband, David, of Tewksbury; adoring grandmother of Christopher Gray of Tewksbury and Keri-Ann Gray of Woburn; sister of Timothy Cadigan of Acton, ME, sister and best friends of Joan Ryan and Maureen Francis, both of Tewksbury, the late Catherine Homer and Eileen McGlinchey; sister-in-law of Philip Francis and James McGlinchey, both of Tewksbury, and the late James J. Ryan Jr. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and friends throughout Charlestown and the Merrimack Valley.
