Preseason Favorites in the Crusader Division, Swampscott scored quickly and often to jump out to a 20-0 lead. In the Second Half the Charlestown Defense woke up and held serve for the rest of the game. A late score off a fumble completed the scoring, but this game was much closer than the score indicated. Charlestown was without some key players. Highlights for the Crusader squad included some hard running by James “Hammer” Hollien, middle linebacker Steven Williams led the team with 6 tackles, defensive Lineman Joe Banville corraled 3, nosetackle Robert Yandle recovered a fumble and Juan Busabe appeared to be everywhere. Feel bad for the team they are playing this coming Sunday, as they are sure to be looking to enact some vengeance after a disappointing first week.
