The City has scheduled the first in a series of meetings to discuss the $1.4 million facelift for Edwards Playground and Eden Street Park on Sept. 20.
A previous meeting in August was canceled, with the new meeting now serving as the kick-off in the discussion.
The plan was announced in May as part of Mayor Martin Walsh’s Capital Budget plan.
The meeting will be for the purpose of sharing what residents would like to see as improvements to Edwards Playground. The Parks Department will also be sharing a park analysis that they’ve conducted, as well as listening thoughts on park use and the upcoming renovation.
Renovations will include improvements to the tot lot, central lawn improvements, and some improvements to the ‘Kitchen’ – the popular name for the street hockey court in Eden Street Park.
Boston-based Klopfer Martin has been retained to design the project.
The first meeting will take place on Sept. 20, 6:30 p.m., in the Golden Age Senior Center, 382 Main St.
