MAYOR’S CUP AND CITWIDE LEAGUE UPDATES

The 11’s got knocked out of the Mayor’s Cup July 28 in the semifinals by Parkway, 14-3. Great tournament, boys!
The summer Citywide league team went 1-0 last week with a win vs. ADSL and a rainout. They played the North End this week in South Boston.

COOKIE JAR ROCKS!!!

Thank you, Jamie and Shannon Chambers and all of the volunteers of the Cookie Jar Roller Hockey Tourney for showcasing the young “Townie” talent.

OILERS ACQUIRE     NOLAN VESEY

Earlier this summer, the Edmonton Oilers acquired the rights to forward Nolan Vesey from the Toronto Maple Leafs, in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in 2020.

Edmonton Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Peter Chiarelli, announced in June the Oilers acquired the rights to forward Nolan Vesey in exchange for a conditional, seventh-round pick in 2020.

The Oilers have agreed to terms, with Nolan Vesey to a two-year entry-level contract. Vesey, 23, completed his fourth season at the University of Maine in 2017-18, posting 25 points (11G, 14A) in 37 games, along with 16 penalty minutes and a -two plus-minus rating.

He reported last Friday during a clinic at McGonagle Rink that he plans to report to camp this month.

GOING FOR THE GOLD

Former “Townie” Aaron Wadman, a standout point guard, leads the Thailand U-18 national team against Australia this Sunday as the FIBA Asia Championships get underway. I’m sure dad Brian showed Aaron some ball-handling “magic” for such occasions.
