HARVARD-KENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ANNUAL SPRING FUNDRAISER
Please join the Harvard-Kent Parents Association for their annual fundraiser in support of the Harvard-Kent Elementary School. Friday, May 4, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Warren Tavern. Suggested donation of $20 and the chance to win lots of fun raffle prizes! All proceeds go towards direct funding that supports and enhances the quality of the education our children receive.

‘Charlestown & Beyond’ will host a very special guest this week, Gerard Doherty, a well-known Townie, past State Representative for Charlestown and former Chair of the State Democratic Party. He’ll talk about his recently published book, “Jack, Bob and Ted – My Life in and out of Politics,” including his life growing up in the neighborhood, his political career and the many friends he made along the way including the Kennedy’s – Jack, Bobby and Ted.
Charlestown’s own TV Show, will appear on Boston Cable’s BNN-TV on Thursday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. on BNN channel 9, RCN channel 15 and Verizon channel 1961. The show will be repeated on Thursday at 11:30 pm. Saturday at 9 a.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. It can also be seen on Youtube and Facebook at Charlestown and Beyond.

HARVEST ON VINE FOOD PANTRY
The Harvest on Vine Food Pantry is requesting cans of tuna and bags of rice to help fill the shelves with these most favorite non-perishable foods. It is also trying to fill requests for packages of toilet paper, expensive to many and not allowed to be purchased with food vouchers. Any donation that you could make would also be greatly appreciated.
Donations can be dropped off at the Food Pantry at 49 Vine St. (Hayes Square), The Cooperative Bank at 201 Main St. and at the Parish Center on Winthrop St. (across from the Training Field). CELEBRATE HISTORIC CHARLESTOWN WITH 2 EVENTS ON MAY 12
The Charlestown Preservation Society invites everyone to join the fun with 2 events on May 12. From 10-30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Help launch the new CPS Mobile Historic Walking Tour. Start at Memorial Hall, 14 Green Street and explore sites in Charlestown, ending with an optional $5 BBQ lunch. From 6-0pm it’s Party Night, a fundraiser to the renovation of Memorial Hall. Special Townies Annual Fundraiser
The Special Townies Annual fundraiser will be held on Friday May 4 , 2018 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m .at the Charlestown Knights of Columbus . Tickets are $25 per person. You can reserve a table with the purchase of ten tickets, but get your tickets early, there are only twenty tables that will be reserved.

Legion invite all to attend the Chief Marshal’s Banquet honoring John Tkachuk, the Chief Marshal of the 2018 Battle of Bunker Hill Day Parade. Ages are:  4 years old by 10/1/18 to 9 years old. (anyone who turns 10 years old before 2/1/19 is to old. You do not have to live in Charlestown to play.
Coffee Hour with Walsh
Mayor Martin J Walsh Invites you to attend his Neighborhood Coffee Hour in Charlestown. The event will be held at the Training Field (Winthrop Square) at 55 Winthrop St. on Wednesday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. in Charlestown. The Mayor and representatives from many city departments will be in attendance and free coffee, donuts and other treats will be served. As always plants from the Parks Department garden will be given as gifts.
