BUNKER HILL ASSOCIATES  TRIVIA NIGHT

Members of the Bunker Hill Associates recently hosted its Trivia Night down at the Knights on May 4. Place was packed and lots of great fun for all. This fundraiser was held to raise funds for nonprofits that benefit kids in Charlestown. Beside being a great cause to help, it also brought the whole community together and have good old fun. The music once again thanks to my music man Michael “DJ Smokey” Cain. What twofer, Raising Funds and Raising Cain!

CHANCE TO HEAR THE BLUES LIKE ONLY DENNIS TAYLOR        CAN DO

A Columbus Day Parade Fundraiser for the Revere Columbus Day parade will be held on Saturday, June 24 with R&B artist and DJ Dennis Taylor of Charlestown. It will be held at Casa Lucia in Revere. For more information on this chance to see Taylor live, call 781.286.8111.

Dennis Taylor has an amazing voice for a white guy. He sounds like a cross between Rawls and Vandross. You got to hear him to believe his voice. The parade by the way is on Sunday, October 9.

JUST SAW “THE TOWN” AGAIN

I don›t know about you out there but I didn›t think «The Town» was that great. Actor Ben Affleck played his part like someone who knows very little about what a «Townie› is. After all he did come from East Cambridge which is kinda close to Charlestown but apparently watching his acting, not close enough.

I did like the Charlestown scenes but that was about it. Actor Johnny Depp in «Black Mass› was just as bad.

Getting to Affleck and all those actors who put on that phony Boston accent, don›t they all sound like the Kennedys? Ben Affleck has even adopted his Hollywood Boston› accent when getting interviewed  when he has a perfectly good East Cambridge accent from birth.

Thank God I never spent good money going out to the movies to see «The Town.»  What a waste of good money that would have been, eh?

CAR CLASSIC OF

THE WEEK

The Parade of Classic Cars is a big July Fourth tradition in Squantum (Quincy). Here is a beauty, a 1954 Ford Victoria sedan that caught everyone’s attention during the parade last summer
