Letters to the Editor

Thank you Morrissey Family

Dear Editor:

On behalf of our children Patrick and Conor, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Morrissey family and members of the Ryan “Duce” Morrissey Scholarship committee.  To be the recipient of such generosity from those whom we hold in such high regard is truly special.  Although the loss of Ryan is still felt by so many, his memory will always endure.  “It is the people who touched our lives in the shortest time that are the hardest to forget.”

GOD BLESS RYAN

Thank you for scholarship

Dear Editor:

I wish to publicly thank the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Scholarship Committee for selecting me as this year’s recipient of the John “Jackie” Sawyer Scholarship.  The Old Schoolboys’ generous support will assist me in continuing my studies at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut where I am majoring in Sports Management at the Jack Welch School of Business.

It is a distinct honor to be awarded the scholarship named in John “Jackie” Sawyer’s memory, a longtime member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association, respected business owner and lifelong Charlestown resident.  I recognize that this scholarship award is a community investment in my future and I am extremely grateful to the Old Schoolboys and the Sawyer family for their confidence in me.

To the Charlestown Old School Boy’s Association:

Dear Editor:

Thank you very much for the Father Robert Smith Scholarship. It is an honor to be considered and chosen for such a prestigious award. The scholarship money will go towards tuition as well as housing costs over the next year as I finish my career at Tufts University. As a senior who has received scholarships from the Old School Boy’s Association, I greatly appreciate your generosity and the aid you have given me throughout the past four years. With your help, next year I will be graduating from Tufts University with degrees in both Quantitative Economics and Finance. Thank you very much and have a great day.

Sincerely,

Conal Lynch
