Spring Art Show Set to Open This Friday

By Seth Daniel

The Artist Group of Charlestown (AGC) will premiere its Spring Art Exhibition this coming Friday night, March 18, at 6 p.m. with works of all sorts – from photography to oil painting.

The show will also include gallery hours on March 19 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 12th annual show will feature artists from all over the Town who are both professionals and amateurs.

“We have 35 members, so our group is growing,” said Didier Delepine. “For us to get together as an association is the value and incentive of working together. Some are making money as professional artists and others like me are doing it for enjoyment. The real joy is to be around others talking about artist decisions and color.”

The Spring Show will feature two-dimensional art like paintings and photography and three-dimensional pieces such as sculpture.

Delepine said there is a lot of great work to show and the AGC hopes residents will stop by on Friday or over the weekend to take a look at it all.

Artists showing are Bolt, Bowling, Burns, Busa, Cabot, Colson, Cornog, Dean, Delepine, Evans, Landers, Lelio, May, Mulford, O’Neill, Pannebaker, Piche, Quattrocchi, Russell, Scott Lovell, Simos, Sorenson, Strawbridge, and Trepiccione.

There will be a People’s Choice Award for Best of Show and a raffle of a spring bouquet created by Bunker Hill Florist. The show is open to the public free of charge and parking is available at the StoveFactory Gallery, 523 Medford St.
