Quinn Scholarship Fund Dinner is April 2

By Ronan Fitzpatrick

What’s the score? To date 24 female and 22 males have become Quinn Scholars. Since the inception in 1969 we have awarded $163,500.00, to this distinguished group, to achieve their college degrees. As we continue our mission, we will be celebrating our 47th annual dinner dance on 4/2/2016 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 545 Medford St. Charlestown, Ma . The 2015 Quinn Scholar, Noel R Charbonnier, will be honored. As the first winner from Malden Catholic High School, Noel distinguished himself in football, swimming and lacrosse. His athletics, academics and community accomplishments, bring pride to his family. Noel is matriculating at Castleton College with the class of 2019. Our program book will be dedicated to our late trustee John T Tibbetts. John had a distinguished hockey career at Charlestown High, New Preparatory and Providence College. Indeed playing hockey was his passion, but his desire to give back to the youth of Charlestown was significant. Establishing a hockey program that brought townies to Europe, enabled the future leaders of our community an opportunity they will cherish forever.

The evening will commence with a 6: 15 P.M. social hour, followed by a six course meal provided Sandra Griffin McLaughlin Caterers and entertainment wll be provided by Alan LaBella. A special evening is planned for the Charbonnier, and Tibbetts families, and their many friends.. Tickets are $ 40.00 per person, and may be obtained by calling Ronan FitzPatrick at 617-242-5493, or writing to the Lt. Michael Quinn Scholarship Fund, P O Box 290216, Charlestown, Ma. 02129-0213

We look forward to your participation in this townie tradition.

Ronan Fitzpatrick is treasurer of the Michael P. Quinn Scholarship.
