Senator Sal DiDomenico recently announced that he has been informed by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (Mass DOT) that the Alford Street Bridge will be completely open on Friday, August 1.. Mass DOT is currently in the final stages of barrier construction, and all four lanes will soon be open.
“I am excited to announce the date for the opening of the Alford Street Bridge,” said Senator Sal DiDomenico. “I know my constituents have been waiting for this day to happen. This is an important project for the residents of Charlestown and Everett, and the opening of the bridge will help provide much needed relief from the traffic congestion in the area. The new bridge will also be safer and able to withstand harsher conditions for many years.” The Alford Street Bridge replacement project is designed to provide a safer and more up to date bridge in order to cross the Mystic River from Charlestown to Everett. This is exciting news for our residents
