Rose Carbonello

Of Medford, formerly of Charlestown

Rose M. (Carpenter) Carbonello of Medford, formerly of Charlestown, died on December 7. She was 67 years old.

She was the beloved and loving wife of 47 years to Joseph S. Carbonello; devoted mother of Christopher and Greg Carbonello; beloved sister of Frank, Eddie and Helen Carpenter, Loretta Arbuckle, Mary Morin and Cora Beals.

Funeral arrangements were by the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Joseph O’Donnell

Of Malden, formerly of Charlestown

Joseph P. O’Donnell of Malden, formerly of Charlestown, died on December 8.

A member of the Irish American Club and a 30 year employee of the U.S Postal Service, he was the devoted son of the late John and Ann (Grogan) O’Donnell, the beloved brother of Jack O’Donnell of Malden, James O’Donnell of Charlestown, Kay O’Donnell-Heerter of Malden, Dorothy Egan and Evelyn Collier and her husband, Bob, all of Charlestown and the late Ann Yandle, Mary O’Halloran and Grace Stella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held from the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, 329 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown today, Thursday, December 13 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis de Sales Church, Charlestown at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Ruth ‘Gram’ Andrea

Of Charlestown

Ruth C. “Gram” (Thorpe) Andrea of Charlestown died on  December 8. She was 94 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Michael F. Andrea; devoted mother of Mary McKenna of Port Richey, Florida, Carol Walsh of Charlestown and the late Manuel Andrea and Louise Becker; loving Gram to nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; beloved sister of Mildred Gallagher of Charlestown and the late Edna Fournier and Frances Ringer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral today, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. from the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.. Robert Orpen

Of Wareham, formerly of Charlestown

Robert Orpen of Wareham, formerly of Charlestown and North Carolina, died on December 9. He was 72 years old.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and a member of Wareham Lodge of Elks, he was the devoted father of John Gregory Orpen and James Christopher Orpen; the beloved brother of John Orpen of Hull, Jean Raso of New Hampshire, Carol Orpen of Malden, Patricia Simard of Easton, Donald Orpen of New Hampshire, Richard Orpen of Randolph and the late Henry Orpen, Jr. and is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob’s life, today, Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. in the Frank H. Eugene ‘Gene’ Todd

Former Union Local 25 Business Agent

Eugene F. “Gene” Todd of Revere, formerly of Charlestown, died on December 6.

The former Business Agent of Teamsters Union Local 25, he was a US Army veteran of World War II attached to the 82nd Airborne Division, a member of the 520 Club, Irish American, Bunker Hill Council #62 Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 529, Somerville City Club and Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Vitale); devoted father of Eileen O’Brien and her late husband, William of Woburn, Robert Todd and his wife, Patricia of Roslindale, Eugene Todd and his wife, Joanne of Medford, Stephen Todd and his wife, Kathleen of Braintree, Kathleen Mallett of Winthrop and Philip Mallett and his wife, Deborah of Revere; brother of the late William, Joseph, Frank and John Todd, Mary Hurnowicz, Rita Brennick, Loretta Mazaka, Mary Sullivan White and Daniel and John Sullivan. He is also lovingly survived by 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral arrangements were by the John H. Sawyer Funeral Home, Charlestown. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St, Danvers, MA 01923.
