Attorney

Atty. Rose C. Zaccone of Charlestown died on August 22. She was 90 years old.

She received her MBA from Boston University School of Education and her Law Degree from Boston College School of Law in 1954. Her legal employment included John Hancock Insurance Co; the law firm of Herrick & Smith from 1968-1986; Condit & Associates of Boston and the Law Firm Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Catherine (Siracusa) and Antonio Zaccone; loving sister of the late Leo Zaccone, Josephine Zaccone and an infant sister, Josephine. She is survived by many cousins.

Danielle ‘Dani’ Millerick

Quincy Resident

Danielle M. “Dani” Millerick of Quincy died suddenly on August 21. She was 27 years old.

She was the loving daughter of Carolyn A. (Krabisch) Millerick and David A. Millerick; devoted sister of Matthew S. Millerick of Boston and Lance Cpl. Benjamin T. Berlo, USMC of Rockland; beloved grandaughter of Marie A. Krabisch and her late husband, Ernest P. Krabisch and Barbara J. Millerick and her late husband, David A. Millerick. She also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and her beloved dog, Frank.

Claire LaPointe

Of Lawrence, formerly of Charlestown

Claire L. (James) LaPointe of Lawrence, formerly of Charlestown, died on August 24. She was 83 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Guy J. LaPointe and Clarence P. Rand; devoted mother of Philip and Jane Rand of Plymouth, Irene Curtin of Lawrence, Guy and Deborah LaPointe of Andover, Thomas and Cynthia of Everett, Kevin and Catherine of Lawrence, William of Everett, Warren and Annette of Malden, Donald of Stoughton, Paul of Lawrence, David and Leah of Andover, Alice Sewell of Hamilton and the late Robert LaPointe. She also leaves her special friend and adoptive daughter, Marlene Pelky. She was the loving grandmother of 21 and great grandmother of 15; beloved sister of Mary Walsh of Charlestown, Olive Connolly of Florida, Eileen Kessler of Michigan and the late Stella Sawicki, Warren, Roy and Robert James.

Gloria Marcinkowski

Retired Insurance Adjuster

Gloria M. (Gundersen) Marcinkowski of Winthrop died at the Blaire House in Tewksbury on August 21. She was 83 years old.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Marcinkowski was an insurance adjuster in the Boston and Winthrop area for over 36 years. She worked at the Elliott, Whittier, Hardy & Roy Insurance of Winthrop, Cleary, Paige, & Osborne of Boston and Dwight & Rudd Insurance Company of Boston. She was a member of the Winthrop Senior Center for many years and was an avid knitter.

She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony M. Marcinkowski. Born in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian (Fraseca) Gundersen; devoted mother of  Carl R. of  Vermont, Andrew M. of  New Hampshire, Joseph  M. of Walpole, Roxane M. Meroles  of Florida, Susan M. Torpey of Billerica, Erica M. of Winthrop, Alan M. of Wilmington, John M. of Charlestown, David M. of Methuen and Joy M. Cronin of New Hampshire; loving sister of Barbara M. Jenkins of Billerica. She was the loving grandmother of 20 and great grandmother of one great-grandchild.

Eugene Sweeney

Charlestown Resident

Eugene F. Sweeney fought a courageous battle against cancer and died on August 21.

He was the beloved son of the late Mary (O’Connor) of Chelsea and Eugene Sweeney of Randolph; cherished husband of Charlene M. (Carvell) Sweeney of Charlestown; loving father of Mary “Pinky” Sweeney and Sheila Sweeney, both of Charlestown; step-father of Jere Getchell of Charlestown, Eric Getchell of Merrimack, NH, and Kurt and his wife, Jennifer Getchell of Newton; brother of Mary “Penny” Sweeney of Watertown, John “Jackie” Sweeney and his wife, Karen of No. Reading, Margaret “Peggy” Bishop and her husband, Raymond of Revere, and Gayle Sweeney of Boston, and the late William “Billy” Sweeney of Charlestown; adoring grandfather of Michael, Terry, Shana, Kelsey, Frankie, Sara, Robert, Dylan, Max, Carter, Geno, Anthony, Mia, Alexis, and Ava.; dear brother-in-law of Frances Roberts, James and his wife, Eleena Carvel, and Donald Carvell and by many nieces and nephews , He was the devoted friend of the Sheila Cali and Steve Guertan families.

Marie Cormier

Worked for Schraffts’ Candy of Charlestown

Marie D. (Arsenault) Cormier, a former retail clerk for Schrafft’s Candy and a lifelong Chelsea resident, affectionately known to many as “Auntie Re-Re” died on August 22 at the Chelsea Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center where she had been receiving supportive care with much kindness and respect for the past several years.  She was 85 years old.

She was one of three children born to Arthur J. and Alma (Chaisson) Arsenault.  As a child, her mother sadly passed away and from the age of three she was lovingly raised by her father and Bernadette (Gaudet) Arsenault.

She graduated from St. Rose High School and was a devoted homemaker for most of her life. She also worked part-time outside of her home as a store clerk at Schrafft’s Candy in Charlestown.  She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Chelsea for many years.

She was the devoted mother of Michelle Benson and her husband, Stephen of Phoenix AZ and William Cormier and his wife, Laura of Little Rock AK; cherished grandmother of Alicia, Matthew, Kane, Cody, Amber and Ashley; adored great grandmother of Joey, Angela. Gabriel, Emilia and Cale; dear sister of Gloria Armorerllo of Chelsea, Howard Arsenault of Saugus, Mark Arsenault of York, ME,  Armand Arsenault of West Peabody, Margie Jaslowich of East Falmouth, Joan Sarcia of Belmont and Carol Phillips of Chelsea.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Rev. Raymond Arsenault SM and close friend and companion, Clifford Gallant.
