Of Chelsea, formerly of Charlestown

Janet McNelley of Chelsea, formerly of Charlestown, died on June 8.

She was the devoted and loving companion for 30 years to Peter J. McEachern; dear sister of Carol, George, Warren “Mac” and Edward and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service in celebration of her life was private. The Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels of Waltham assisted Peter with arrangements. Catherine Desmond

Of Revere, formerly of Charlestown

Catherine G. (Doherty) Desmond of Revere, formerly of Charlestown, died on June 6. She was 101 years old.

She was the wife of the late Matthew Desmond; daughter of the late John and Nora (Reagan) Doherty; loving mother of Geraldine Winters of Revere, Richard Desmond of Salem and Robert Desmond of Saugus; sister of Ruth Nee of Marshfield and the late Agnes Desmond, William Doherty and John Doherty. She is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren, 13 ½ great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Funeral arrangements were by the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, Saugus. Charles Tucker

Charlestown Resident 

Charles H. Tucker of Charlestown died on June 4.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 25, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and a US Army veteran of World War II who served five years in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign with a total of 18 years service, retiring at the rank of Captain.

He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia “Ginny” L. (Morley) and Edith “Edie” Tucker; father of Anne, Mary and Charlotte. “Charlie” was the last of seven siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors was held in the Magrath Funeral Home, East Boston. Memorial donations to Honor Flight New England, PO Box 16287, Hooksett, NH 03106 would be appreciated.
