Charlestown Youth Basketball 2011 Season Round-Up

by Karen Sullivan and Ginny Mansfield

Many thanks to the support of our sponsors, the Charlestown Community Center, coaches, parents and players for a very fun and successful basketball season! The Charlestown Youth Basketball program kicked off it’s second season with 9 teams and 97 players, ages 6-12, playing over 60 games.

Our season wrapped up on April 6th with a final four playoff game for the Major League, with Citizen’s Bank and Haven by LHD facing off against each other. It was an amazingly, suspenseful game with Citizan’s Bank taking the lead for the first quarter with some great ball playing however, Haven roared ahead with a couple of 3 pointers. Though the teams were neck and neck for the entire game, Haven did manage to squeeze out one last win for the season with a final score of 23-21. The night ended with a banquet for all of the players and awards were given out to some of the Major League players.

Our team sponsors made the season happen for us and we couldn’t have put the program together without them.
