Paul Martell

Lifelong Charlestown resident

Paul M. Martell, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Monday, Nov. 22 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 46 years old.

Born in Boston on March 20, 1964 to Margaret M. (Doherty) and John L. Martell, he grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1982. He worked as an Athletic Director for more than 17 years with the Charlestown Community Center. He has been working as a trolley operator with the M.B.T.A. for the last nine years. He was a member of The M.B.T.A. Carmen’s Union Local 589 and Bunker Hill Council  62, Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed music and his sense of humor captured everyone’s attention.

He was the beloved son of Margaret M. (Doherty) Martell and the late John “Lou” Martell; the devoted brother of John L. Martell Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Billerica, Steven F. Martell, David J. Martell and his wife, Mary, of West Roxbury, Daniel G. Martell and his wife, Kerri, of Reading and the late Kevin J. Martell. He was the loving uncle to Shannon Tackaberry, Ann Martell, Jack Martell, Owen Martell and Emily Martell.

Paul J. Chaisson

Lifelong Charlestown resident

Paul J. Chaisson, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died suddenly on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Hollywood, Florida. He was 48 years old.

Paul was born in Boston on February 10, 1962 to James P. and Agnes A. (Doherty) Chaisson. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Benedict’s Parochial School in Somerville, graduated from Don Bosco High School in Boston in 1980 and The Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay in 1984 with a Degree in Engineering. Paul served as a Merchant Marine out of Virginia Beach, VA, before residing in Hollywood, FL.

Paul is the beloved son of the late Boston Police Detective Sergeant James P. Chaisson and Agnes A. “Honey” (Doherty) Chaisson. He is the devoted brother of James Chaisson of Great Falls, Montana, Stephen Chaisson of Charlestown, Maryann Chaisson of Quincy and Rosemary Grenham of Marshfield. Paul is the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Paul’s Memorial Mass to celebrate his life on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 55 Warren St.

Mary Lillian Danieli

Stoneham resident

Mary Lillian (Stapleton) Danieli of Stoneham died on Nov. 27. She was 73 years old.

She was the wife of the late Arthur Danieli; mother of Debra Danieli of Lowell, Marianne Weinberg and her husband, Laurence, of Peabody, Kathleen Danieli of Stoneham, Lawrence Danieli of Corinna, ME, Joanne Casey and her husband, Jonathan, of Brookline, NH and Susan Danieli of Stoneham; grandmother of Brian and Lawrence Poor, Mark Weinberg, Richard, Mary and Paul Bridges and Erin and Emily Casey; sister of Thomas Stapleton and his wife, Jean, of Wells, ME.

Funeral arrangements were by the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, Stoneham. Burial was in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Kaplan Hospice, 78 Liberty St., Peabody, MA 10920.
